For Tanishka “To-To” Wilson, a life of helping others is the only life worth living. In 2007, when she founded her company Eklectiq Enterprise—a license and bonded entertainment agency. She was passionate about helping talented artists reach their ideal audience.
The great Langston Hughes once wrote, “An artist must be free to choose what he does, certainly, but he must also never be afraid to do what he might choose.” This quote exemplifies Wilson’s work, for her, one of the most important things as a Professional Artist Agent is the ability to allow artists the space to create by managing their businesses and improving their wellbeing. For Wilson, transparency and trust are not just buzzwords—they are the key to success.
Most recently, Wilson accepted the position as the Executive Producer and Music Supervisor for the upcoming film, Homeboy. For the 2021 underground classic film, Dymez, she was the music supervisor and also the executive producer of the soundtrack titled "Dymez the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack". The dramedy has become an instant classic for Detroiters both at home and abroad. Additionally, she has supported her brother BlkBok—a neo-classical pianist who has toured with the likes of Justin Timberlake and more.
Also an event promoter, Wilson is one of the few women in the metro Detroit area who has successfully sponsored and promoted a concert by a major recording artist—which also provided a platform for local artists to be opening acts.
“My goal was always to give artists a platform and keep guests entertained—and I’ve accomplished that on multiple fronts. For me, it’s not all about the money, it's about the smiles of others especially during these trying times,” Wilson says, “I put GOD first and when he tells me to move…I do.”
